Terms of service
Pilot version 1. Plain-language text; the counsel-approved version replaces it before launch.
1. Who we are
Daylight is a marketplace operated by OSINT JOURNO Media Private Limited ("OSINT JOURNO", "we"). It connects journalists with eligible buyers. We are an intermediary. We are not a publisher, news agency, agent, employer or guarantor of anyone using Daylight.
2. Accounts
- You must be 18 or older.
- Journalists pass an identity check; buyers pass a business check. Badges say only what was checked.
- Keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- You may use a pen name. Your legal name appears on contracts you sign, to the other party.
3. Your content
You are responsible for what you post, list and deliver. Journalists warrant that their work is original, truthful to the best of their knowledge, lawfully obtained and free of undisclosed conflicts.
We do not edit, check, verify or endorse any pitch, story or evidence. What a listing says, including the evidence it lists, is the journalist's statement, not ours.
We may remove or restrict content, or suspend accounts, under the community rules and the law.
4. Deals
- Each deal is a contract between the buyer and the journalist, on the standard deal contract. OSINT JOURNO is not a party to its editorial or rights terms.
- Buyers pay into a separate escrow account. We never hold buyers' money in our own account.
- Escrow releases on acceptance, or automatically 7 days after delivery unless a dispute is raised.
- Fees are shown before you commit and are deducted as described on the pricing page.
5. Disputes
Either party may raise a dispute before release. We decide on contract compliance only, within 10 working days where possible, and record the clause we relied on. A party who disagrees may take the dispute to online dispute resolution or arbitration.
6. Safety
We do not direct reporting, assess risk or provide protection. Users are responsible for their own safety. We provide privacy features and a directory of independent organisations.
7. Legal requests
We act on valid court orders and government directions, including within the deadlines the IT Rules set, and preserve records as the law requires. Where lawful, we tell the affected user.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the fees we earned from the deal concerned. You indemnify us for claims arising from your content or breach of these terms.
9. Grievances and law
Our grievance officer's contact details are on the grievance page. These terms are governed by the laws of India.
